(I'm going to be bold and move shows produced by Remarkable, Zeppotron, Initial etc that began on or after 1 January 2015 to the new Endemol Shine category, so here's the appropriate directing note)
(On second thoughts, shows beginning just after the merger (like Harry Hill's Stars in Their Eyes) were still copyrighted to Endemol... I've therefore shortened the directing note appropriately)

Definition:
Programmes made by Endemol and its subsidiaries, including Zeppotron, Initial, Cheetah Television, Brighter Pictures, and Remarkable Television (which resulted from the merger of Cheetah Television and Brighter Pictures in September 2009).

Prior to 2015, Endemol was one of the largest TV production companies in the world. Founded in 1994 by Dutch producers Joop van den Ende and Jon de Mol (hence the name), it was owned by Spanish telecoms giant Telefónica from 2000 to 2007, and thereafter by a consortium led by the Italian company Mediaset, one of whose major shareholders is Jon de Mol.

The UK arm of the business started as the tiny independent Bazal Productions (named after its founder, Peter Bazalgette) in the 1980s. It was eventually bought out by Endemol and renamed as Endemol UK.

Although the company had a reputation for brash and sometimes trashy TV shows, it also made a large amount of comparatively low-key programming.

Endemol merged with Shine on 1 January 2015 to form Endemol Shine Group. For shows produced by former Endemol subsidiaries after this date, see the Endemol Shine category.
