How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?

Biography

Born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, in 1983, Connie Fisher moved to Dorset at an early age, and to Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire at the age of six. She competed in the Urdd Gobaith Cymru, and National and International Eisteddfodau. Awarded a full scholarship to the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, Fisher won the prize for being the top student. As every aspiring actor does, Fisher worked in telesales, making her professional debut in pantomime over Christmas 2005.

And then How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? came calling. The series found a performer to play Maria von Trapp in a new West End production of The Sound Of Music, and Fisher won the contest. Her contract was extended from the original six months to a year and a half, and she's since toured with the show. Fisher appeared on the television drama Caught in a Trap over Christmas 2008. She married Neal Williams in 2010.
