Chief announcer at ABC Television in the North who made his name at Anglia with that immortal catchprhase on Sale of the Century...

And now, from Norwich, it's the quiz of the week!

John could also be found on relief continuity shifts at the station until around 1987. He was also to be found working on the BBC Light Programme, Rediffusion London and Thames Television.

He died in 1995.
