Greatest Game Shows

The 100 Most Popular Game Shows
One question you almost certainly haven't been asking yourself is "What are the 100 most popular articles on this site?". Well, tough, because we have and you can see the result of our Greatest Game Shows - it lists stalwarts like The Crystal Maze and Interceptor to surprises such as Kate Thornton's Dishes. Who knew?

Winning Lines

While UKGameshows.com is (even if we say so ourselves) the most comprehensive guide to the genre anywhere on - or off - the web, with over 2100 programmes already in our database it is inevitable that even we're stumped sometimes. So we're asking for your help. A number of our "most wanted" shows are now listed here and a team of volunteers is standing by, waiting to add your contributions to our compendium of game show knowledge. Go on, help us out. It's what Mumsy would want.

Eurovision Song Contest
22 November Voting Changes for Eurovision 2023
The European Broadcasting Union has announced that there will be a couple of changes in the voting system for next year's Eurovision Song Contest. The first change is that non-participating countries will be able to vote in the new online voting via the Eurovision website in both the Semi-Finals and the Grand Final. The second change is the voting in the Semi-Finals will now be 100% televoting, with some exceptions if a country doesn't have a recorded or valid televote result, in which case a jury backup will be used. The voting in the Grand Final will remain unchanged.

Eurovision Song Contest
20 October Thirty Seven Cross the Mersey
The European Broadcasting Union has announced the thirty seven countries who will take part in next year's Eurovision Song Contest. Of the 40 which competed this year, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro will not take part due to financial constraints, resulting in the joint-smallest field (alongside 2014) since the introduction of the second semi-final in 2008.

Love Island
12 October Maya Loveisland… Jama!
Continuing their run of hiring hosts who have previously hosted dating shows, ITV have replaced Laura Whitmore (Survival of the Fittest) as host of Love Island with Maya Jama (True Love or True Lies).

Judith Keppel
10 October Keppel retires
Judith Keppel has announced she is retiring from Eggheads, stating that at the age of 80, her memory is not what it used to be. It is unclear whether or not she will be replaced.

Eurovision Song Contest
7 October Liverpool to host Eurovision 2023
It was announced during The One Show that Liverpool will be hosting the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of this year's winning country Ukraine. The contest will take place on the 9th, 11th and 13th May. All three shows will air on BBC One together in one package for the first time ever.
