Poll of the Year 2016

Poll of the Year 2016 - Results coming soon!
History, they say, is written by the winners. But the annual Poll of the Year report is written by us. We're not sure what that means but join us for the live result reveal at 9pm on Tuesday 17th January on Youtube and Bother's Bar followed by the written report right here.

Greatest Game Shows

The 100 Most Popular Game Shows
One question you almost certainly haven't been asking yourself is "What are the 100 most popular articles on this site?". Well, tough, because we have and you can see the result of our Greatest Game Shows - it lists stalwarts like The Crystal Maze and Interceptor to surprises such as Kate Thornton's Dishes. Who knew?

Family Fortunes

While UKGameshows.com is (even if we say so ourselves) the most comprehensive guide to the genre anywhere on - or off - the web, with over 2100 programmes already in our database it is inevitable that even we're stumped sometimes. So we're asking for your help. A number of our "most wanted" shows are now listed here and a team of volunteers is standing by, waiting to add your contributions to our compendium of game show knowledge. Go on, help us out. It's what Mumsy would want.

The European Broadcasting Union has announced that 43 countries will compete in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Bosnia and Herzegovina will not return due to the broadcaster's ongoing funding problems. Portugal will return after a one year absence, and Romania has resolved the outstanding debt that kept them out of Stockholm. Australia will also return for the third year running; this year, they finished second with 511 points.

The BBC have announced today that they have recommissioned the Robot Wars revival for another 6 episodes. Dara O'Briain and Angela Scanlon will be returning as hosts as well as commentator Jonathan Pearce.

You're Back in the Room
7 October You're Back in the axe
ITV has announced today that the hypnotic You're Back in the Room with Phillip Schofield has been axed after two series. Viewing figures from the second series slipped by a quarter - to just over 3 million - and producers struggled to find suitable celebrity names who were keen to make a fool of themselves.

Taskmaster
3 October Your time starts now
Tomorrow is the start of the third series of Taskmaster, which was not supposed to be shown until 2017, but was brought forward after the second series received a positive reception. Dave, the channel showing Taskmaster, has recommissioned the show for series 4 and 5, which are due to be filmed next year. Both of these series will have an extended run of 8 episodes.
