Biography

Rugby union scrum-half who played domestically for Northampton and Wasps, and was a member of England's 2003 World Cup winning team. He became a team captain on A Question of Sport in 2004, and in 2018 surpassed fellow rugby player Bill Beaumont as the show's longest-serving captain.

Trivia

Won the inaugural series of Celebrity Masterchef in 2006, although it was a close-run thing. Gregg Wallace said in an interview a couple of years later (and on numerous occasions since) that that series' runner-up Hardeep Singh Kohli was "the greatest Masterchef winner that never was".
