Biography

Liverpool comedian born in 1927. Became famous for hosting two stints of the variety show Sunday Night At The London Palladium. He starred in a long-running ad campaign for Cadbury's Roses chocolates. With Andrew Wood, he developed the idea for the darts-based quiz Bullseye. He died in 2002 from complications following a road accident on Waterloo Bridge.

Trivia

His catchphrases included "Swinging" and "Dodgy". I guess you had to be there.
