Biography

Comedian, musician, singer, broadcaster and football club chairman from Merthyr Tydfil, born as Lynn Mittell. Owen is one of BBC Radio Wales's senior presenters and still presenting the weekend magazine show Money for Nothing on Saturdays and Sundays after over 20 years at the station.

He also runs his own theatre company (specialising in pantomines) and performs with house band The Soul Sharks in venues across Wales and the West of England.

Trivia

Awarded the MBE for services to Welsh entertainment in 2007.

Was the main player in an attempt to get Paul Gascoigne to join Merthyr FC - an attempt which only stretched as far as a few local news reports.

Formed comedy band Tomfoolery in 1974 - which featured Brian Conley as lead singer at some point in its history.
