What, has someone gone and changed the year number again? How tedious.

Speaking of tedious, 2013 was the year that Channel 4 brought us Face the Clock. But don't fret, because there was some good stuff too (wasn't there?) and besides, we've got the small matter of the wooden spoon to award.

The polls are now open, so get your thinking caps on. Like last year we're interested in Best New Shows, Worst New Shows, Best Show generally, your favourite moments and anything that excited you internationally. We treat traditional games and quizzes and reality games equally here.

This year we are dedicating the awards to the memory of the late Travis Penery who sadly passed away last month. A very knowledgeable man whose comments have featured in all the previous years we've featured reader comments and will be missed this year.

Instructions

The first three categories all work in the same way:

  • In each category you have five votes.
  • You may use up to two votes for a single show if you feel particularly strongly about something. If you do want to vote for the same show multiple times, please put each vote on a seperate line as it make it clearer for counting. You do not have to use all your votes.
  • You are invited, but not obliged, to leave supporting comments. You will have more chance of being used in the final write-up if you get to the point.
  • You are not required to vote in every category, and you are not required to use all your votes in each category.

A list of the shows we believe eligible can be found below but may not be exhaustive, if you think we've missed something then please let us know. You are free to vote for revivals.

The Categories

  • The Hall of Fame - New UK shows for 2013 you really liked.
  • The Hall of Shame - New UK shows for 2013 you really disliked.
  • The UKGameshows.com Golden Five - You can vote for any UK show where at least one new episode was broadcast during 2013.
  • Best International Show - What were your favourite non-UK shows of 2013? We will give emphasis to shows that were new in 2013 although you are not limited to this. This one is for our international friends, although anyone with knowledge may vote. This is more of a freestyle category but to keep it focused please don't put down more than five shows.
  • Finally we're interested in what your favourite UK gameshow-y moment of 2013 was. This one is not a popularity contest particularly, we will use the more interesting comments and moments.

Got that?

Good. There are two ways you can vote. You can send an e-mail to poll2013@ukgameshows.com or (preferred) you can use the form set up at Bother's Bar. Just one form per person please, and we reserve the right to exclude dodgy looking voting slips. Members of production companies are advised to reveal their affiliation.

And don't hang around, the polls close 11pm Wednesday 15th January 2014. Do not vote after that time as your votes will not count but you may still be charged. Look out for the results soon after. Thanks for your time! To help jog your memory, here's our list of what debuted in 2013. If we've missed something, please let us know:
