Incidentally, Richard met Judy at Granada TV where they were both presenters of the nightly regional news magazine, Granada Reports alongside the legendary Anthony Wilson.

Trivia

Was once charged, and later acquitted, of stealing soap powder and wine from a Tesco in Didsbury. The event attracted press coverage out of all proportion to its newsworthiness.

Once made a (surprisingly admirable) attempt at impersonating the West Staines-based nemesis, Ali G.
