Comedienne who rose to fame as, in her own words, "one quarter of the double act Mel and Sue" with [[Mel Giedroyc]], most notably the 1990s C4 daytime show ''Light Lunch''. Nowadays prone to pop up on any radio comedy show, she hosted ''The 99p Challenge'', can frequently be heard on ''Just a Minute'' and was a regular on ''It's Been A Bad Week''. Her telly profile was raised considerably in 2008 with the ''Supersizers'' food history series, alongside Giles Coren, followed by a winning performance on [[Maestro]]. More recently, she fronted the enjoyable documentary "A Band For Britain", in which she was helping to revive the previously dying Dinnington Colliery Band in South Yorkshire: Perkins' conducting skills came in useful once again on this series. She was also in "Giles and Sue Live The Good Life", in which she and Coren attempted (albeit temporarily) to live a suburban self-sufficiency lifestyle, following in the footsteps of the fictional Tom and Barbara Good, whose attempts to do so had been shown in the BBC's hit 1970's comedy series "The Good Life".
