TV Guide 2014-06-28

This week's schedules are all very provisional. They depend on the discussions between ITV and the BBC and on results from the men's football world cup. All of which means we have an excuse to try something different: listings in text form. This is an experiment, let us know what you think at @ukgameshows.

Saturday 28 June

DAYTIME

  • ITV's going for a Game Show Marathon: Mr and Mrs at 12.30, Tipping Point at 3, The Chase at 4, Family Fortunes at 5, Catchphrase at 5.45.
  • Come Dine with Me (C4, 4.10) is from Kingston upon Thames.
  • CBBC's got a Celebrity Total Wipeout at 4.55.

PRIMETIME

  • The Cube Celebrity Special (ITV, 7.30) with Mollie King.
  • A Question of Sport Super Saturday (BBC1, 7pm) with Shappi Khorsandi, Ola Jordan, Louie Spence, Chris Ramsey. Looks like it contains electric shocks.
  • Break the Safe (BBC1, 7.30) returns.
  • Big Brother at 9, Mock the Week repeat also at 9.

Sunday 29 June

DAYTIME

  • America's Got Talent continues (ITV2, 12 noon).
  • May the Best House Win (ITV, 9.25am), Bargain Hunt (BBC1, 12.15), Tipping Point (ITV, 12.30), and Deal or No Deal (C4, 4.45) have their usual editions.
  • Come Dine with Me (More4, 5.25) is in Dumfries and Galloway.

PRIMETIME

  • Pointless Celebrities (BBC1, 6pm) was a late substitution when the football schedules were confirmed.
  • Celebrity Catchphrase (ITV, 7.20) will go out if the football finishes on time. The Chase With Celebrities will not now air.
  • Big Brother is at 9.

Weekday daytime

  • Wimbledon continues, so no game shows are scheduled in BBC daytime, other than the perpetual Bargain Hunt (BBC1, 12.15).
  • Fifteen to One (Challenge, 9.30am) continues the 1988 series.
  • Countdown (C4, 2.40) moves into series 71 with Jon Culshaw helping Susie Dent to handle the computers, and doing his Griff Rhys-Jones impression from Thursday.
  • Deal or No Deal (C4, 3.30) continues.
  • Draw It! (C4, 4.30) has its final week, Antony Cotton and Denise Van Outen are the residents.
  • Come Dine with Me (C4, 5pm) has hourlong episodes.
  • The Chase (ITV, 5pm) appears in Schedule A.
  • The Joke Machine (CBBC, 5.55; 6pm Thu; 6.50 Fri) continues.

Monday 30 June

  • Round Britain Quiz (Radio 4, 3pm) has the first return match, South of England and Northern Ireland avoid the wooden spoon.
  • Ludus (S4C, 5.30) faces opposition from Carmarthen.
  • I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue (Radio 4, 6.30) is from Norwich, with Susan Calman and guest host Jack Dee.
  • Would I Lie to You could be on BBC1 and BBC3 at 7.30.
  • The Cube (ITV2, 8pm) with Mel Sykes and Ashley Banjo.
  • Only Connect (BBC4, 8.30) has the second semi-final, Europhiles -v- Software Engineers.
  • Big Brother is at 10, and the Celebrity Juice repeat on ITV2 at 10.55.

Tuesday 1 July

  • Two episodes of Hell's Kitchen (9pm) are ITV2's imports.
  • QI (BBC2, 10pm; NI 11.50) is a K-compilation.
  • Big Brother is at 10, and the Celebrity Juice repeat on ITV2 at 10.55.

Wednesday 2 July

  • The DNN team audition for Strictly Come Dancing (CBBC, 5pm).
  • Mr and Mrs (ITV, 8pm) features Charlie Condou and Cameron, Nerys Hughes and Patrick, Scott Robinson and Kerry.
  • I Wanna Marry Harry (9pm) has the assault course section. Have they reached Observation yet?
  • Celebrity Masterchef (BBC1, 9pm) features Kiki Dee (heartbreaker), Charley Boorman (dunno), Jason Connery (003-and-a-half), Tina Hobley (Coronation Street), and Christopher Biggins (Mr. Painting from Rentaghost).
  • The Great Irish Bake Off (TV3, 9pm) reaches semi-final week, and summer desserts.
  • Ctrl Freaks (London Live, 10pm) continues.
  • Big Brother is at 10.
  • Another chance to see 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4, 10pm) and A Question of Sport Super Saturday (BBC1, 11.30; NI, Wales midnight; Scotland 12.30).

Thursday 3 July

  • Celebrity Masterchef (BBC1, 9pm) continues.
  • Mock the Week (BBC2, 10pm) features Rob Beckett, Susan Calman, Hal Cruttenden, and Romesh Ranganathan.
  • Big Brother is at 10, and the Celebrity Juice repeat on ITV2 at 10.40.

Friday 4 July

  • The Slammer Returns (CBBC, 5.20)
  • The News Quiz (R4, 6.30) with Samira Ahmed and Fred Macaulay.
  • Celebrity Masterchef (BBC1, 7.30) concludes for the week.
  • James Cordon Does Deal or No Deal (C4, 8pm), a billing that writes itself.
  • The Cube (ITV2, 8pm) with McFly.
  • Crossfire (TV3, 8pm) continues.
  • 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4, 9pm) is with Jo Brand and Claudia Winkleman.
  • Big Brother is at 9, and the Celebrity Juice repeat on ITV2 at 11.
  • Stand By Your Man (C5) has been relegated to 11.30, after its remarkable reception.
