TV Guide 2014-12-27

The week after Christmas is always odd. Celebrity editions of shows continue (University Challenge on BBC2, Mastermind on BBC1), ITV pads its schedules with repeats and shows laughing at celebrities, and Channel 5 fulfils its annual quota of quality game shows with World's Strongest Man. (They'll send some of the competitors round if we dare criticise it. We value our front teeth.)

Channel 4 has 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Tue) and the Big Fat Anniversary Quiz (Fri), while BBC2 schedules Mock the Week in what would be the Newsnight slot. ITV2 has an outtakes compilation from Celebrity Juice (Tue).

A few new series kick off: Win Your Wish List (BBC1, Sat) is the new lottery tie-in show with Shane Richie. We hope it's no Reflex. There's a new run of The Big Allotment Challenge (BBC2, Fri), and Channel 5 looks back at Celebrity Big Brother's Best Bits (Thu).

Hey Ho Let's Go (RTE2, Sun) pilots in Ireland. Viewers in Wales can look back at 50 years of Sion a Sian (S4C, Tue)
