Synopsis

Two teams of celebrities go head-to-head in five sports, competing in front of a live crowd at the Commonwealth Games stadium in Birmingham.

What are the events? 4x100m relay, shot put, table tennis (singles and mixed doubles), 3x3 basketball, cycling, and rhythmic gymnastics with ribbon or ball.

Competitors were a mixture of sportspeople, young and fit celebrities, and less likely participants. Rickie Haywood-Williams in the relay, snowboarder Aimee Fuller in the basketball, but would we have thought of Dermot Murnaghan in the cycling?

Kelly Holmes and Ellie Simmonds captain the unruly teams, with Emma Willis and Jermaine Jenas doing their best to keep the event in order.

Trivia

Aired to support Sport Relief, the nominated charity for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The pre-recorded show aired in the hour before the Games' closing ceremony.
