Only when the winning amount has been decided does quizmaster Jörg Pilawa appear on the screen and surprise the contestant with a windfall.

Saturday has another run at Hirschhausens Quiz des Menchen (ARD) - it's Operation Ouch as a panel game. Lucky Stars - Alles auf die Fünf (Pro7, Tue) is a right Five Star show: one contender picks from five celebrities to complete challenges and win money.

Français. Eurovision France, c'est vous qui décidez! is the FT selection show (France 2 and TV5 Monde)

Nederlands. It's the final of Wie is de Mol (NPO1 and bvn.tv, Sat). The smart money is on Everon, but everyone has been wrong before. High Tea Challenge (net5, weeknights) is a daily show where competitors make small cakes, scones, fingerbread, heartfood, and a perfect cup of tea. Goes out at 8pm, obvs.
