Biography
Born in Kensington, London in 1965, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen first came to public attention as a designer on the BBC's home make-over show Changing Rooms. After the programme's demise in 2004, he has continued to appear on television in a variety of roles, including being a guest, host, expert, and even judge.
Trivia
He and his wife Jackie are the biggest-winning celebrities on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, winning £500,000 for charity on a Valentine's Day special in 2006. They only won the money, however, after being offered a second £1,000,000 question - their first, "Translated from the Latin, what is the motto of the United States?", was deemed ambiguous after it featured both "In God We Trust" (the official motto since 1956, but not taken from any Latin source) and "One Out of Many" (the translation of "E Pluribus Unum", the de facto motto prior to 1956) as possible answers.
Every year since 2007, Laurence has created a number of tableaux and other features for the annual Blackpool Illuminations. In 2010, he was made Creative Director of the event.
