Host

Robert MacDermott
Broadcast
BBC Home Service, 26 September 1948 to 29 May 1949
Synopsis
Posers for the listening audience on crime, chess, codes, law, and bridge, with the answers given the following week (well, obviously). Questions were set by Gerald Verner, William Winter, H.C.G Stevens, Terence Reese and an anonymous lawyer, and a cast of actors was on hand to bring them to life.
Inventor
Ian Messiter was credited as producer and editor. It's likely that the format was his creation too, but we haven't been able to confirm it.
