Britain Get Singing

Synopsis

Celebrity teams from ITV's biggest shows come together to compete and sing for Britain.

There's very little to say about the format: Each team has an introductory VT, then take to the stage to perform their song, the judges blather for a bit, repeat for 50 minutes before a winner is announced (there is no scoring during the course of the show). So if you've seen any other performance show, it's like that.

The groups and songs were:

• Coronation Street (Michael Le Vell, Sue Devaney, Daniel Brocklebank, Rob Mallard, Jodie Prenger, Channique Sterling-Brown): "This is Me"
• Love Island (Tasha Ghouri, Paige Thorne, Antigoni Buxton, Danica Taylor, Andrew Le Page, Luca Bish): "Last Christmas"
• Loose Women (Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards, Denise Welch, Judi Love, Linda Robson, Kelle Bryan): "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
• The Chase (Anne Hegerty, Jenny Ryan, Darragh Ennis): "I'm Still Standing"
• Emmerdale (Lisa Riley, Mark Charnock, Daisy Campbell, Jay Kontzle, Lawrence Robb, Bradley Johnson, Olivia Bromley): "Merry Christmas Everyone"

...and at the end, the entire cast sang "All I Want For Christmas Is You".

The exceedingly clumsy title comes about because it was tied in to ITV's ongoing "Britain Get Talking" campaign.
