Biography

TV producer who has worked at Hat Trick and from 2000 to 2020 at Endemol UK where was Creative Director. Went native in 2009 to be the adjudicator on BBC2's Pointless. His BBC2 panel game If I Ruled the World... had two series in the UK but went on to become an international hit.

He also wrote the sitcom Boyz Unlimited, on which David Walliams and Matt Lucas had co-creator credits.

Trivia

His brother Mat is the bassist for Suede, and provided the music for Zeppotron's 8 Out of 10 Cats. His wife, Ingrid Oliver, narrated French Collection; they met on House of Games.

Has guest hosted at least two game shows: the 1000th episode of Pointless saw him and Alexander Armstrong swap roles, while the fifth episode of Countdown's sixteenth Championship of Champions, on 6 January 2023, saw him swap with Colin Murray for a couple of rounds, taking over the host's chair while Murray took his place next to Susie Dent in Dictionary Corner.
