Born in Evanston, Illinois, in 1953, Ruby Wax came to the UK as a straight actor. She played a stereotyped American character (loud, brash, annoying) in television comedies, and was the script editor for Absolutely Fabulous. Since the mid-90s, she has interviewed a number of celebrities in the modestly-entitled occasional series Ruby Wax Meets...
