TV Guide 2022-09-17

Dust off the glitterball, Strictly Come Dancing is back (BBC1, not Sat but Fri). We're also graced by The Tournament with Alex Scott, and Sally Lindsay on Pointless (BBC1, weekdays from Tue).

Two very different shows start on Monday: Mastermind (BBC2) the venerable quiz, The Big Blow Out (E4) styles hair - except it's been postponed. RuPaul's Drag Race kicks off again (BBC3, Thu).

Later in the week, a Mel Giedroyc double wth the return of Unforgivable (Dave, Tue) and woodworking contest Handmade (C4, Wed). Hire Me (BBC3, Wed) follows hopefuls looking for their dream job. Junior Eurovision (TG4, Sun) will give one young hopeful their dream trip.

Schedules here are accurate at about 5pm on Thursday 15 September, and are very different from those published in listings magazines. A team of eager workers will try to keep the website up-to-date with all the changes, but do check against your own EPG

International

A choice of viewing on Saturday, Das große Deutschland-Quiz on ZDF, or Schlag den Star on Pro7 and bothersbar.co.uk. New series of The Taste (Sat.1, Wed) puts the spoon back into your telly. Glow Up arrives on ZDF Neo (Thu), the make-up programme gets everywhere. Battle rounds begin on The Voice of Holland of Germany (Pro7, Thu).

Les Cinquante (W9, weeknights) is quite an idea: fifty minor celebrities live in an isolated castle, are given silly things to do, and the worst at each task is eliminated. Think of Richard Osman's literal House of Games, only with fewer chairs each day - and two hours of it every night. Elsewhere, La Grande Saga de France Télévisions is a two-hour clip collection (F2, Sat). Le 3615 ne répond plus (F3, Wed) remembers Minitel, the intermediate step between Ceefax and the internet.
