5 September The Beeb has spoken - Survivor must come back
Not content with reviving Gladiators, the BBC has confirmed that it is reviving Survivor too. Banijay subsidiary Remarkable will produce sixteen episodes for broadcast on BBC1 in 2023, with filming location and presenter information to be revealed in due course. Two series were made for ITV in 2001 and 2002, neither of which were successful.

The death has been announced of Bill Turnbull, aged 66. He was best known for presenting BBC Breakfast from 2001 until 2016. In the game show world, he hosted Think Tank.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest
25 August UK to participate in Junior Eurovision 2022
The BBC has announced that the United Kingdom will be participating in the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia. The UK last participated in the contest as a whole nation in 2005. This will be the first time that Junior Eurovision will be on the BBC as their previous participations were on ITV.

25 August Gladiators Re-ready
It has been confirmed that the BBC is reviving Gladiators. Eleven episodes will be filmed at the Sheffield Arena for broadcast on BBC1 in 2023. This is the second time the show has been revived, after 35 episodes were made for Sky in 2008 and 2009.

Love Island
22 August No more for Whitmore on the island of love
Laura Whitmore has announced that she will not continue hosting Love Island. She posted on Instagram that "I was only planning to fill in for Caroline [Flack] for a series and it turned into 3 series."
