Welcome to 2016. ITV wastes no time with its Saturday night double-header, with Ninja Warrior UK (also Sunday) and Take Me Out starting this week. Channel 5 kicks off Celebrity Big Brother (from Tuesday, also TV3 in Ireland).

Entertainments include Lip Sync Battle UK (C5, Fri), celebrities mime to popular tunes. The Big Fat Quiz of Everything (C4, Tue) reviews the last 100,000 years of human evolution.

New to primetime comes Insert Name Here (BBC2, Mon), which might not be game. For What It's Worth (BBC1 daytime) is an antiques quiz. Masterchef Us arrives on Watch (weekdays).

CBBC has talent show Got What It Takes? (Wed) and comedy The Dog Ate My Homework (Fri). And if you're missing Pop Idle US, it comes to 4 Music (Sat).

Challenge has new-to-the-channel editions of Blockbusters and Robot Wars: The Sixth Wars (weekdays).

H2 also has new-to-the-channel editions of Robot Wars: The Third Wars (weekdays).

  • Take Me Out (ITV, 8pm) Fresh from the success of Benchmark, Paddy O'Connell invites the entire viewership round to his pad. Take Me Out The Gossip follows on ITV2.
