- Any Dream Will Do - Andrew Lloyd-Webber returns with the follow-up to How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?. (BBC One, Summer 2007)
- The People's Quiz - BBC One's big idea for 2007: a massive open quiz whittling down a huge number of contestants to one overall champion. We're not the only ones who remember Ultra Quiz, then.
- Britain's Got Talent - Simon Cowell's lastest venture, an Opportunity Knocks for 2006 or thereabouts. Ant and Dec are rumoured to be close to signing up; Cowell will also appear on screen. Already made in the USA as America's Got Talent. (ITV1)
- Battle of the Exes - one-off relationship game show with Alex Zane and Jenny Frost. (E4)
- Ofn - Welsh-language "haunted house" game for children, along the lines of Scary Sleepover. BB7 contestants Imogen Thomas and Glyn Wise host. The title means "Fear", by the way. (S4C)
- The rumoured Supermarket Sweep comeback has been confirmed, and filming starts in January. (Talkback Thames for ITV1)
- Trapdoor - Adventure game show for kids (RDF for CITV)
- Reversal of Fortune - strangely-titled quiz with Eamonn Holmes in which the contestants will apparently be shown the questions in reverse (i.e. backwards).
- Jerry Springer is piloting a show called Aladdin's Cave, where a couple goes into a cave of prizes and can pick any three, although if they pick the wrong ones they leave with nothing. Amazing.
- Challenge's stable of original programming expands even further with Showbiz Blackjack and Showbiz Darts coming later in the year. They've already done Showbiz Poker, you might see a theme developing here.
- Business Class: Business reality show created by Peter Jones of Dragons' Den. (ITV1)
- The Inventor: Also created by Peter Jones, essentially Innovation Nation on a larger scale. (Fremantle/Syco/Peter Jones Productions, channel TBA)
- You Bet Your Ass: Irreverent pop-culture quiz based on a Canadian format. (Lone Eagle Entertainment, channel unknown)
- Click City sends kids on a treasure hunt with mobile phones. (Lion TV, channel unknown)
- Space Pirates: virtual reality adventure game for children. (Lion TV, channel unknown)
- Best in Preschool: Lorraine Kelly and Dominic Wood test pre-schoolers on stuff. (ITV1, later this year)
- Sell Sell Sell: seeking Britain's top salesperson. (ITV daytime)
- Extreme: thecustard.tv says: "game show featuring men aged 45 to 60 competing in dangerous challenges". (ITV1)
- The Swot Team: quiz in which contestants take on child prodigies. (BBC One)
- Unbelievable (formerly Pants On Fire): Angus Deayton hosts a panel game based on tall stories. David Mitchell is one of the team captains. (BBC One, early 2007)
- Celebrity Bowls: Celebrity bowls. With Gail Porter. Apparently. (Channel 4)
- Big Bluffer - famous faces gamble their own money on the outcome of stunts. Hosted by Alex Zane. (Zeppotron(?) for Channel 4)
- The Rich List: make lists, get rich. Now that's what we call a pitch! Contestants can apparently win "an unlimited amount of money". Eamonn Holmes does his level best to destabilise the world economy. Apparently contestants bid to name things in given categories, and lose if they fail to fulfil the bid. Our gameshow similarities engine whirrs into action and churns out a piece of punched card which says "90% Ask No Questions, 10% the auction round from Wipeout". They've already remade this for the US, with Holmes presenting (it was axed after one episode), but as yet no word on when - or if - we'll get to see the home-grown version. (12 Yard for ITV1)
- National Village Show brings yer traditional village fete contests (flower arranging, jam-making, growing enormous leeks, that sort of thing) to proper telly. There's probably a reason why no-one's done this before. (12 Yard for BBC, filming this summer/autumn for broadcast 2007)
- Tough Decisions, a comedy quiz with Patrick McGuinness (Objective for E4)
