(Here's one of Carlton's light-based idents used from September 1995 to November 1996 - a reminder that it only added the star to its logo in September 1999)
(And here's a frame from one of Carlton's brightly-coloured visual pun idents, used from November 1996 to September 1999. I grew up in Ealing in the '90s, so I'm *very* familiar with these idents... ;))

Definition:
Programmes made by Carlton Television.

Carlton replaced Thames as the ITV station for London on Mondays to Fridays on 1 January 1993. Its parent company, Carlton Communications, developed a media empire in the mid and late '90s, with acquisitions including Central in 1994 and Westcountry in 1996, as well as independent production companies Action Time and Planet 24.

Carlton lost its on-air identity on 28 October 2002, and Carlton Communications merged with Granada on 2 February 2004 to form ITV plc.
